I recently got an email that had suggestions of blog ideas. One was from Mama Kat. She said to “Show me your Kitchen” I liked it.
I have a Cock-a-Doodle-Do Cantina. I have no idea how it got started but it did.
When I was young I always wanted a farm so I could have chickens. However, we built our house in a community that did not allow farm animals of any sort. How sad.
I managed to find a rooster or two when we built our house and was content.
But then something happened. My mother-in-law started sending me these cute little Mexican roosters. How cute right?
My view from the kitchen sink
Then one day I took a look around and realized these little cocks had taken over.
I had roosters standing guard from above…
I even had a rooster that partake of the drink while standing guard
And to keep all of those cock-a-doodle-dos in line and to watch over the goods, I have an itty bitty. SuzieQ takes her job seriously.
HOME IS WHERE THE KITCHEN IS.

Good lord, I’m in love with your kitchen.
So do you now find yourself looking for roosters when you’re out, or seeing them and wondering how they’d fit in?
I have only brought home two. One on the window seal and the one on the pot rack. I made that pot rack, btw. My mother in law has given me a chicken every year for Christmas except this year. I got a CAR. Sorry, I still can’t get over it.
You should get yourself a rooster hood ornament!
OMG!! how freaking awesome would that be? I have no idea where to find something like that. Maybe a woodcarver! Stained and sealed. NOW, why in the world would you do that to me? It is all I can think about.
What a fabulous kitchen!
I think I’m gonna move in with you!
Yes! Of course everything up on this mountain would eat your beautiful birds.
Your kitchen looks really homely. Just painted my walls white, sounds clinical but the kitchen units are wood which add the warmth and the counters are wooden too. I needed the white to reflect the light as it’s a dark room. My guilty pleasure are my fridge magnets of places, I make everyone I know buy me one so I look more travelled than I am. I should write about them one day. I have one I think you’ll like, it’s from when I was in Portugal – a ceramic rooster magnet of their national symbol. I feel like sending it to you now
Joe do you have any magnets from America?
Not yet, have Canada, my friends are going to New York in June, they will have specific instructions!
Well let me know if you want one from the great southwest cowboy state of New Mexico
I will take magnets from anywhere!
Let me pick up a couple from here and Texas then you can email me your address.
Hah! Cool, thanks for that
